Rhetoric

Previously I've studied two six-month courses of rhetoric at Södertörns Högskola. The first course was mostly practice, we:

• Practiced speaking before large crowds.
• Practiced holding presentation.
• Studied the do and don'ts of speaking.
• Learned guidelines and tips and tricks.
• Studied group dynamics.

The second course was more analytic, we:

• We studied the language in-depth.
• Analyzed newspapers, presentations and political speeches.
• looked into how text and speech can be and are being used to formulate opinions, influence people and as propaganda.
• Learned nonviolent communication.
• Learned active listening.

I also wrote a undergrade thesis which was recently published in the leading Scandinavian magazine about rhetoric, RetorikMagasinet.
